Community-based tourism model in Tìa Ló village surveyed

ĐBP - On March 5, Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Central Party Committee, Member of the Standing Board of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, led a delegation to survey the community-based tourism model in Tìa Ló village, Nong U commune, Điện Biên Đông district.

The delegation included leaders from the provincial Youth Union, the provincial Labor Confederation, and local authorities.

Tìa Ló village, located 30km from Điện Biên Phủ city, is home to 100% ethnic Mông ethnic minority households. Despite efforts to alleviate poverty, the village still faces significant challenges.

The delegation surveys the community-based tourism model in Tìa Ló village.

Traditionally, the village’s economy has relied on livestock breeding, with limited agricultural land available. However, with support from local authorities, the village is being developed into a community-based tourism destination.

The survey aimed to identify the advantages and challenges faced by Tìa Ló residents in developing this tourism model. Based on the findings, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province will provide recommendations to the provincial authorities and consider additional support from the Fund “For the Poor” to develop the village’s tourism infrastructure.

The delegation works with local authorities and residents, listening to their opinions and proposals at the Tìa Ló village cultural house.

In 2024, Nong U commune received support to build 38 Great Solidarity houses, with 11 households in Tìa Ló village benefiting from this program (under Project 09). This year, the village is expected to receive additional support to build five more houses.
